Supporting the VPR Album of the week
Many thanks to our affiliates and supporters who work with and assist VPR throughout the year.
Following the closure of West Hill Hospital in 1997, Dart Radio merged with Joyce Green Hospital Radio to form Radio Joyce Green. Three years later, Joyce Green Hospital closed, both being replaced by the brand new Darent Valley Hospital, with its opening came the launch of Valley Park Radio. We went “On Air” at midday on the 28th August 2000.
The Very First Presenter on air was Vince Holland our program controller at the time. We also had our very first phone call that day and it was put live on air as it was one of our presenters on holiday not wanting to miss the launch of VPR. In January 2008 we moved to our New purpose built studio within Darent Valley Hospital.
